Dimensions & Drawings
Factory expanded and assembled onto a removable core. Pull the core and the sleeve shrinks in place, providing sealing protection at the multi-core cable crutch.
Made from EPDM rubber, which does not contain chloride or sulfur.
Features & Benefits
- Water-resistant seal meeting ANSI C119.1, dielectric strength 14.3 kV/mm (ASTM D149)
- No torches, tools or heat required — installs by pulling the removable core
- GCEB2 (2-core) and GCEB4 (4-core) configurations
- Operating temperature range -40°C to 90°C
- EPDM rubber, free of chloride and sulfur
- Resists abrasion, ozone, fungus, acids and alkalis
- Tough rubber formulation withstands backfilling
Applications
- Sealing the branch-out (crutch) point of 2-core and 4-core cables
Standards & Compliance
- ANSI C119.1
- ASTM D-412
- ASTM D-624C
- ASTM G-21
- ASTM D149
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Cold Shrink Breakouts used for?
It is used for:
- Sealing the branch-out (crutch) point of 2-core and 4-core cables
How do I choose the right size?
Use the selection chart on this page: it lists every code with its dimensions, and the key above it says what each column means. If you are not sure which fits, send the dimensions you are working to with the form below.
How is it installed?
No heat and no tools. Place it over the cable, then pull and unwind the spiral support core: it shrinks onto the cable as the core comes out. Remove the core completely so it recovers fully.
Which standards and test methods are quoted for it?
These, with the values in the Technical Specification on this page:
- ANSI C119.1
- ASTM D-412
- ASTM D-624C
- ASTM G-21
- ASTM D149
Where can I download the datasheet?
From the "Download datasheet" button at the top of this page, or here:
Can I get a quote, a sample or a size that is not listed?
Send your cable details, quantity and application with the "Request a Quote or Sample" form at the foot of this page. For a size or variant that is not in the chart, describe what you need there, or use Technical support at the top of the page, and the technical team will confirm what can be supplied.
