Heat Shrinkable Termination — Soloterm
Soloterm is Gala's heat shrinkable termination for indoor and outdoor use on polymeric cable up to 33 kV, using an integrated varistor stress-control system.
- Outdoor terminations up to 33 kV
Soloterm combines electrical stress control, insulation and moisture sealing into a compact termination with few components. Its integrated stress-control coating bonds to the cable insulation and screen from within, blocking moisture ingress, and seals to the cable lug.
Because the stress-control system is built in, indoor terminations need no separate sheds.

How is it installed?
Clean and degrease the surface, position the part, then shrink it with a gas torch or a hot-air gun: keep the heat moving round it with a smooth, brushing motion so it recovers evenly without scorching. The instruction sheet in each kit gives the full sequence step by step, including where to start shrinking.
