Dimensions & Drawings
The full cable — jacket and conductor — is used to form the pull, which reduces the risk of cable deformation during pulling. Properly installed, the cap is virtually impossible to pull off and seals against water and moisture ingress.
Typically factory installed; can also be field installed with a propane (preferred) or butane gas torch.

Features & Benefits
- Minimum pulling force 13 N/mm² (GEC 301L-PE to GEC 701L-PE: 150-450 kg)
- Dual function: seals the cable end and forms the pulling connection in one component
- No special tools or crimpers required
- Reduces risk of cable deformation during pulling
- GEC 301L-PE to GEC 701L-PE covers cable range 28-112 mm

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Heat Shrink End Cap with Cable Pulling Eye used for?
It is used for:
- Cable pulling for power and telephone cable installation
- Sealing the cable end against water and moisture during and after pulling
How do I choose the right size?
Measure the outside diameter of the cable and choose the code whose "Cable Range" covers it. For example, GEC 501L-PE fits a cable of 50–70 mm. Where two ranges overlap, either code fits.
How is it installed?
Clean and degrease the surface, position the part, then shrink it with a gas torch or a hot-air gun: keep the heat moving round it with a smooth, brushing motion so it recovers evenly without scorching. Start at one end and work steadily along to the other.
Which standards and test methods are quoted for it?
These, with the values in the Technical Specification on this page:
- ASTM D638
- ASTM D792
- ASTM D2240
- ASTM D570
- ASTM D2671
- ESI 09-11
- IEC 216
- ASTM D149
- ASTM D257
- ASTM D150
Where can I download the datasheet?
From the "Download datasheet" button at the top of this page, or here:
Can I get a quote, a sample or a size that is not listed?
Send your cable details, quantity and application with the "Request a Quote or Sample" form at the foot of this page. For a size or variant that is not in the chart, describe what you need there, or use Technical support at the top of the page, and the technical team will confirm what can be supplied.
